Halloween Skeleton Outfit

Shooting this post was brilliant; the Halloween spirit is in the air! I'm going as a skeleton girl in this dress from Amazon which I'm much more keen on now I've adapted it, but when I ordered it as a strapless dress I'd assumed it would have some ribbing inside or at the very least some structure to keep it up but I just got some material with those tacky transparent plastic straps. I sewed on some thin black straps to hold it up and then decided to wear it with my black, furry Topshop coat and spiked heels from New Look.
The makeup ended up with a more catty look with the flicked eyes but I love the intensity of the look and a lot of black eye shadow, kohl and liquid liner was used as well as grey shadow and white eyeliner with my usual skin base but much darker eyebrows to define the face even more.

A Pop of Neon - Barry M Lipgloss

Neon is back. No, calm down, it's crucial here not to go over the top! Just a pop of neon in an outfit, be it with the handbag or the shoes or in this case, the lips. This splash of vivid gloss is very girly, though slightly more vibrant without the flash on the camera. I'm not normally too keen on a very bright lip but I bought this jumper from H&M a few weeks ago, and with my pale skin it tends to wash me out so as well as wearing a dark bandeau underneath it, the added colour to the lips brightens up my face a bit more than the usual nude and pale glosses and balms.

This lip gloss is Shade 5, Bubblegum Pink by Barry M. I found I had to apply quite a few layers to get a strong colour as it is quite a sheer gloss, however sticky it may be! The only other problem I have with Barry M glosses and some other brands actually is that they are very deceiving when it comes to packaging. Although this looks like a large tube it is an optical illusion, with a thick transparent casing around the actual product, meaning it only holds 2.5 ml when it could contain 3x that amount if it used a lot more of the width in the tube. Otherwise, a lovely, pretty lipgloss to add to the rather vast collection...

Barry M and Ted Baker Presents

This weekend one of my friends is hosting a party and I do love giving makeup as a present because it looks lovely and its a present which you can actually use as oppose to a what I would call 'Temptations present', a sparkly box, jar or room decoration which looks great, goes on your shelf and is never as well appreciated as sometime which you get a little bit of joy from!
So, as you can see, my friend is receiving this Ted Baker shower gel and eau de toilette which I know will smell gorgeous as I actual have the perfume from another TB set. I thought this was a great reduction in Debenhams going for a mere £5 for Ted Baker and leaves a little room for a few little presents on top! Now another good brand bargain, Barry M were doing a 2 for 1 or half price or something with this Lash Modelling Mascara which I think has great packaging in a lovely vibrant lilac and gloss. This Glossy Tube looks very pink and sickly but they tend to come out quite sheer so it gives a gloss to the lips with a good tint, however this is just from other Barry M products as I have obviously not opened these as they are not for me...shame.

Barry M Liquid Eyeliner

Now normally I prefer kohl to liquid when it comes to eyeliner, but one of my recent purchases was this Liquid Eyeliner by Barry M. It has a felt tip and is very easy to apply and remove! Great for thin lines and builds up well if you've got a steady hand! Long-lasting and non-smudging, its at a good price (£4.79 to be precise.) Definitely recommend!
